FAQ

Questions? We Have Answers

Which tutor is right for you?

The first step to finding the right tutor is knowing where your child needs help. Whether it's recent feedback from parent consultations or results from a recent test, you can filter your choice of tutor to match your needs. In a free trial you can ask the tutor any questions you may have and see how good a match they are for your child.

What are the advantages of online tutoring?

Learning online lets each kid work at their best. Learning one-on-one means each lesson is tailored to your child's needs. Our tutors can guide your child through gaps in their learning, confidence in lessons, or exam technique at any time, from any place.

When can I book a session?

Our tutors are available throughout the day for sessions. Need a tutor to fit into the few spare hours of the week? We've got just the one. Want a flexible tutor to fit around school clubs? There's a tutor waiting for you.

What should I look for in a tutor?

There are two key aspects to any tutor, curriculum knowledge and mentoring experience. It's the mixing of these skills that turns a complicated, technical subject into an easily explained and quickly understood concept. A tutor who is on the students side, working with them towards their goals is what builds a young learner's confidence quickest.

We're picky about our tutors, they come from top UK Unis, and as they're but a few years older the know how to teach a topic to make it understandable to teens today.

How do online lessons work?

Our online lessons are all done right here on our site. We have video calling, messaging and an interactive whiteboard for each lesson. This makes it easy for students to practise exercises, draw diagrams and cover tricky topics as if they're sat in the same classroom.

Are free trial sessions available before I buy a lesson?

Yes, free trial sessions are available for students and parents searching for a tutor.

These are 15 minute initial meetings between the tutor, parents and students where you can get an understanding of how your tutor will help, and how well you'll get along.

To get the best out of your initial meeting, we suggest you discuss:

  1. What goals you're working towards with tuition
  2. What course content you'd like to cover
  3. How often you'd like to work together, and when you're available
  4. How long you're planning to have sessions for (e.g. until the end of your exams, for this school year)
They are a great way of deciding if the tutor will be a good fit for you

Students can book the trial lessons by:

  1. Searching for the tutor you want to book a trial with.
  2. Click the "Book Free Trial" button on their detailed information page.
  3. Select your preferred date and time from their availability calendar and select "Book Lesson".
  4. Select "Confirm Order on the checkout page. Your trial lesson is now booked.
Each student is allowed one trial session per tutor, so they can find the right fit.
